My Story

With more than 30 years of experience spanning hospitality, farming, construction, manufacturing, IT and defence, here’s my story.

Born in Zimbabwe, I moved to South Africa at a young age and lived a life of simplicity in nature, something I only came to fully appreciate once I’d moved to the UK in 2005. “Fresh off the boat”, my first job was cockle-picking on the Isle of Skye (slightly colder than expected). Realising quickly this was not my preferred vocation, I started my move south, pheasant farming in Market Harborough, then hotels, sales, retail, hospitality and construction. Each role added another layer to my understanding of people, business, and what makes both tick.

My longest stint, and most significant role, was as a Senior Manager at a luxury manufacturing company in Petersfield, Hampshire. Tom (the owner) took me under his wing and opened my eyes to how much I had to learn about people and running a profitable business. Tom, Andy (the MD), David (business coach) and Graham (non-exec director) mentored and coached me relentlessly, while the wider team gave me the opportunity, accountability and platform to grow.

On a sunny English day I was handed a question and a statement that changed how I looked at myself: “What type of leader are you?” and “You need to be more curious.” Simple stuff, you’d think, it took me a year to truly understand. Over time, clarity arose, and I found my WHY. (Yes, I’ve read a lot of Simon Sinek.)

As a Programme Transformation and Change Consultant, I draw on a career spanning construction, defence, luxury manufacturing and consultancy, bringing board-level experience in translating strategic intent into results that actually land: 50% revenue and margin growth across a business over three years; a £5M programme compressed from twelve months to six; 92% adoption of a CRM transformation within 24 weeks; a 35% reduction in contractor dependency through internal capability development.

I hold Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP®) accreditation alongside MCIOB chartered membership, PRINCE2 Practitioner and Change Management Specialist qualifications. What ties it all together is a simple belief: lasting results come through people, not despite them.

To continually develop myself with curiosity, humility and tenacity, enabling me to support others, create opportunities for growth, and help them fulfil their potential. In short: delivering results through people, with a tenacious approach to getting things done.
